About Vijay Rupani
Vijay Rupani is an Indian politician who belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently the chief minister of Gujarat. He represents Rajkot West Assembly constituency in Gujarat’s state legislative assembly.
Personal Background
Vijay Rupani was born on 2 August, 1956 to a Jain Bania family. He is a Bachelor of Arts degree holder. He has done LLB as well.
Professional Career
Vijay Rupani began his political career as a student activist. He joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and eventually the Jan Sangh in 1971. He has been with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since its inception. He is the only minister in the present cabinet of Gujarat to have been arrested during the Emergency era. He has served as the party’s corporator in Rajkot. He has also served as the mayor and a member of Rajya Sabha. Rupani was the chairman of manifesto committee during the term of former Gujarat chief minister Keshubhai Patel. He served as the general secretary of BJP’s Gujarat unit and chairman of the Gujarat Finance Board during Narendra Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister. Vijay Rupani was nominated by the BJP to contest the Rajkot West Assembly seat after the resignation of Vajubhai Vala. He won the bypoll by a convincing margin and got elected as an MLA for the first time in 2014. He was the state minister for transport, labor and employment, water supply before getting appointed as the chief minister of Gujarat on 5 August, 2016.

About Devendra Fadnavis
Devendra Gangadhar Fadnavis is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently serving as the chief minister of Maharashtra. He took oath of office on 31st October, 2014 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He became the second youngest chief minister of the state at the age of 44. He is known for his intellectual acumen and professional integrity. He was awarded the Best Parliamentarian Award by Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in 2002-03.
Personal Background
Devendra Fadnavis was born into a Brahmin family in Nagpur, Maharashtra on 22 July, 1970. He has done LLB as well.
Professional Career
Devendra Fadnavis started his career at an RSS Shakha at Trikoni Park. He joined the Maharashtra unit of BJP as a ward President. During the years 1986 to 1989, he was an active member of ABVP and channelised the youth towards reconstruction of society. He used to paint walls and paste promotional posters of politicians on them. Along with this, he has been also been a strong supporter of the youth’s participation in politics and a staunch believer in Swami Vivekanand’s philosophy.
At the young age of 21, he became the youngest municipal corporator of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. He worked for two consecutive terms from 1992 to 1997. He is also the only person to be re-elected as the Mayor in the state of Maharashtra.
He was appointed president of the BJP’s Maharashtra unit by the then BJP president Rajnath Singh overriding former president Nitin Gadkari’s suggestion to give another term to Sudhir Mungantiwar. Fadnavis led the party in Maharashtra during the 2014 General Elections. Presently, he represents South-West Nagpur constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

About Dharmendra Pradhan
A prominent Indian politician, Dharmendra Pradhan gained the ministerial berth in the newly-formed government.
He was sworn in as the Minister of State (with Independent charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas in the Modi government. He is the member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Personal Background
Dharmendra Pradhan was born to Debendra Pradhan and Basanta Manjari Pradhan in Talcher district of Angul, Odisha on June 26, 1969. His father was a former BJP MP. He did his post-graduation in Anthropology from Utkal University in Odisha.
Professional Career
Dharmendra Pradhan entered into the realm of politics as a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). In 1985, he was elected as the President of Talcher College Students’ Union. He actively participated in the students’ movements in the state of Odisha. Soon he was elected as the national secretary of ABVP and subsequently of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha from 2004 to 2006. While he was the President of the Yuva Morcha he participated in campaigns related to reservations on the basis of religion.
Pradhan entered into national politics in the year 2004. His father who was a minister in Vajpayee government was a MP from Deogarh constituency. He left his seat in 2004 thus paving the way for his son. Dharmendra Pradhan won the Lok Sabha elections of 2004 from the constituency. But Pradhan lost the subsequent elections.
Pradhan has occupied several positions during his political career. While he was the member of the state assembly, he became the face of the youth in whole Sangh parivar. In 2012 he was elected as the member of Rajya Sabha from the state of Bihar. Prior to this, when he was the general secretary of the party in 2011, he also looked after the activities of the party in Jharkhand. He was also the organiser of party activities in Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Odisha. Infact he was also given the award for being the best legislator.
Though his stint into national politics is not long, he managed to secure for himself the position in the Cabinet. Talking to the media after taking the charge, Pradhan said that his focus “would be to meet the expectations of the poor and the middle-class people of the country”. He said that “the people of the country have large expectations from the new government and this government is dedicated to the welfare of the poor”. He further added, “the Indian economy has an important role in the world economy, and I would endeavour to make contribution to this effect”.

Arjun Ram Meghwal (born 20 December 1954) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party and former party Chief Whip in 16th Lok Sabha, Currently He is Union Minister of State in Finance and Corporate Affairs in Government of India He has been elected to the 15th and 16th Lok Sabhas (terms of the lower house of the Parliament of India) from Bikaner constituency, Rajasthan in 2009.

Arjun Ram Mehwal was born in a middle class family of Kismidesar Village (Bikaner) to Mr. Lakhu Ram Meghwal and Mrs. Heeradevi on 20 December 1953. He is M.A., LLB, MBA, Retired IAS Office, Past Chairman of NCERT.

From Weaver To IAS To Minister, Arjun Ram Meghwal Is Inspiration For Many
Born into a traditionally weaver family of Kismidesar village in Bikaner, Mr Meghwal was married at the age of 13.
New Delhi: From being a weaver to working his way to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) as officer to being elected as member of parliament to becoming a union minister now, Arjun Ram Meghwal’s journey through life has been an inspiration for many.
The Dalit MP seems to have been rewarded with a berth in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s council of ministers in recognition for his struggles in life as for highlighting the allegedly illegal land deals Bikaner in Rajasthan, which is his constituency.
Born into a traditionally weaver family he continued his studies while also working with his father as a weaver. He graduated with a BA degree from Sri Dungar College in Bikaner and also earned an LLB and a Master’s from the same institution.
After his studies, he started preparing for competitive examinations and got into Indian Post and Telegraph Department as a telephone operator.
He had his first stint with politics when he contested and won the elections for the post of general secretary of Telephone Traffic Association.
While working as a telephone operator, he passed the examination for Rajasthan State Administrative Service in his second attempt.
He got into the top-most echelons of bureaucracy when he was promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and worked as District Collector of Churu in Rajasthan.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) offered Mr Meghwal the ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 from Bikaner. He won the election, becoming a member of parliament.
He was re-elected from the same constituency in 2014. He is the chief whip of the BJP in the Lok Sabha and one of the very few MPs who cycle to parliament.
